Maldini on AC Milan sale to Investcorp and Origi transfer

AC Milan director Paolo Maldini was asked by the journalist about the sale of the club to Investcorp and Origi’s possible signing.

AC Milan secured an important win at San Siro against Genoa. Thanks to goals from Rafael Leao and Junior Messias, the Rossoneri are back at the top of Serie A table with two points ahead of Inter. AC Milan’s upcoming league match is with Lazio but first the Rossoneri will be busy in the Coppa Italia second semi-final against Inter.

A busy football week for the Rossoneri but the news of the club’s possible sale to Investcorp has take center stage. AC Milan technical director, Paolo Maldini, was asked about the sale of the club to the Bahrain fund before the match against Genoa.

I know little but it is normal that in the future of Milan there may also be a sale of the club. I do not know when that moment will be. With a few days to go, I think it is in everyone’s best interest to try to win the Scudetto. We have also the semi-final of the Italian Cup to play“.

Maldini obviously does not want the squad to get distracted by these reports. The players only focus should be to win the next match and not the negotiation between Elliott and Investcorp. The former defender was asked by the journalist also about the signing of Divock Origi from Liverpool.

“With six days to go, I would only think about this season for now. There was no availability to intervene in attack in the January window. We felt strong. We started the year well with very good results. However, Ibrahimovic’s prolonged absence is a problem for us“, said Maldini.
